When you realize how easy it is to install and set up a directory you will be enticed to build many of them. That is exactly what I did when I first started out. I knew if I could build one successful directory that I could build even more and increase my profits exponentially.
The problem with this is that your time gets spread out very fast and you find yourself neglecting certain sites and either focusing on a few or building yet even more.
I can say that starting many directories in the beginning helped me to see which niches were profitable and which ones I enjoyed spending the most time on. It took me building many sites to figure that out though and I don’t recommend just shooting in the dark like that unless you have a lot of free time, resources and are willing to explore.
Depending on how much time and effort you put into each directory will determine its quality. Everyone has a different idea about what defines quality but everyone knows when they see it. A quality website is well planned out, designed, programmed, marketed and maintained.
Bottom line though is that quality websites always fetch more money in the long run so it pays to put the work in.
So quality over quantity always wins out. Unless you plan to flip sites fairly fast I’d suggest building one, maybe even two directories related to something you are interested in.
Of course building websites always takes time and money so depending on how much you have of both will determine how many you can handle building.
